The DR-100 is a handheld recorder that records to SD/SDHC cards in WAV or MP3. WAV recording runs at sampling rates from 44.1 kHz to 96 kHz. It carries two pairs of built-in condenser microphones, one cardioid and one omni, so it can capture a stereo image without external mics.
For external sources there are XLR mic inputs with phantom power and a mic preamp with up to 60 dB of gain. The signal is digitised by AKM Audio4Pro A/D converters with a signal-to-noise ratio above 100 dB. A low cut filter, an analog limiter and auto gain control help manage level and noise while recording.
Other connections are 3.5 mm line inputs and outputs. The unit has a built-in speaker for playback and an integrated microphone stand mount. It runs on a rechargeable Li-Ion battery or AA batteries, with an optional PS-P520 AC adapter. The manufacturer publishes a tested media list of SD and SDHC cards, and firmware v1.11 is available.
