TB-3

The TB-3 models the TB-303's sawtooth and square oscillators and its 18 dB per octave ladder low-pass filter with Roland's Analog Circuit Behavior technology. Accent, slide and tie behavior of the original are reproduced, along with 134 preset sounds that include new four-oscillator, effects-processed basses, leads and sound effects.

A lit, pressure-sensitive touch pad is used for playing and programming. Position on the pad controls pitch and volume, and pressure controls modulation. The step sequencer holds up to 32 steps per pattern and 64 user patterns. Patterns can be entered by step or recorded in real time, and the unit offers random pattern generation, pattern modification, copy, shuffle and tap tempo. A Scatter effect adds slicing, reverse and gating with 8 variations and 10 depth levels.

The unit has stereo and mono line outputs, a headphone jack, MIDI in and out, and a USB type B port that carries audio and MIDI. It can run from an AC adaptor or USB bus power. System version 1.1 adds backup and restore over USB, pattern lock, user bank, tuning controls and extended MIDI functions.
