The LUMIX GH7 is a mirrorless camera built around video production. It uses a 25.2MP BSI CMOS sensor and Phase Hybrid autofocus, which combines contrast and phase detection. Real-time recognition tracks people and animals, plus cars, motorcycles, trains and airplanes, including parts such as eyes, helmets and vehicle fronts.
For recording, the body can write 5.7K 30p ProRes RAW HQ internally, to CFexpress media rather than SD. The Dynamic Range Boost function combines two exposures in real time and allows 13+ stop V-Log/V-Gamut capture. Open Gate recording covers all aspect ratios. LUTs in .VLT and .CUBE format can be applied in camera. ARRI LogC3 is available for 10-bit recording in Creative Video mode with the optional DMW-SFU3A software key. The DMW-XLR2 adaptor adds 32-bit float audio recording. A heat-dissipation design supports long recording at 4:2:2 10-bit C4K/4K 60p/50p, with unlimited recording time inside the recommended temperature range.
Connectivity covers Wi-Fi pairing with the LUMIX Lab app for transfer, basic editing and LUT creation, RTMP/RTMPS live streaming, simultaneous internal and HDMI external recording, and Adobe Frame.io Camera to Cloud upload. It is sold as a body or with a 12-60mm F2.8-4.0 lens.
