Description
The Rockerverb 50 MKIII is the third generation of Orange's Rockerverb head. It is a Class A/B design with independent Clean and Dirty channels, each with its own EQ section. The Clean channel is aimed at headroom and clarity, while the Dirty channel covers gritty crunch through to heavily saturated gain.
Output power can be set to 50 W or 25 W, and a built-in attenuator lets the player lower volume while keeping power-amp character. Reverb is valve-driven, using its own ECC81 preamp valve. Both the reverb and the attenuator can be switched from a footswitch, as can the channel selection. The preamp uses four ECC83/12AX7 and two ECC81/12AT7 valves, and the power amp uses two EL34 valves.
The head has a valve-buffered effects loop and provides speaker outputs for 1×16 Ω, 1×8 Ω or 2×16 Ω loads. It is available with an Orange or Black basket weave vinyl finish and weighs 20.75 kg.
