The TX-RZ70 is an 11-channel AV receiver (marketed as 11.2 channels, with one page passage also calling it 11.4) with 140 watts of power. It supports discrete zone designs and multiple subwoofers. Audio decoding and conversion use ESS Sabre DACs, and the receiver carries THX certification and eARC. Dirac Live Room Correction Full Bandwidth is built in, and Dirac Live Bass Control can be added for use with an unlimited number of subwoofers.
On the video side it handles 8K and 4K Ultra HD over HDMI 2.1, with Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and HDCP 2.3. 4K/120 is supported for gaming and fast motion. A discrete Zone 2 HDMI output allows a different source to be shown in a second room. IMAX Enhanced mode and a Klipsch Optimize mode, which applies preset crossover values for Klipsch Reference and Reference Premiere speakers, are included.
For networking, the receiver is ready for DTS Play-Fi, works with Sonos as a certified AVR when paired with a Sonos Port (sold separately), and integrates with Apple AirPlay, Alexa and Google apps. Bluetooth works in both directions: SBC and AAC for receiving, and SBC, aptX and aptX HD for sending to wireless headphones.
