The Origin20 Combo is a one-channel valve guitar amplifier built around two EL34 power valves and three ECC83 valves in the preamp and phase splitter. Its Powerstem power scaling lowers the voltage rails around the power amplifier, so output can be set to 20W, approximately 3W or approximately 0.5W without switching the valve operating mode.
Tone is shaped with Gain (with a pull boost), Tilt, Bass, Middle, Treble, Master and Presence controls. The Tilt control moves the sound from a standard tone toward a high-treble voicing, in the manner of the multi-input approach of older Marshall amplifiers. A 2-way footswitch operates the gain boost and switches the series effects loop on and off. The amp has no built-in effects.
The instrument connects to a single 1/4" input. Rear connections include three 1/4" speaker outputs for 16Ω or 8Ω loads and a 1/4" DI output. The 1x10" Celestion VT-Junior speaker (16Ω, 50W) is fitted in a black cabinet that weighs 13.9 kg.
