The MON 8 A G3 is the smallest model in the MON G3 powered stage monitor family. It uses a 2-way coaxial driver arrangement: an 8" woofer with a 2.5" voice coil and a 1.75" titanium-diaphragm HF driver, with a 50° x 90° CD horn. The 2500 Hz crossover and point-source layout are meant to give consistent sound at short listening distances. Frequency response reaches 59 Hz (-10 dB), and the 33° monitor angle suits floor-wedge use.

A Class-D amplifier supplies 300 W RMS and 1200 W peak, for a maximum peak SPL of 121 dB. DynX DSP (Gen. 2) provides a 3-band EQ, a tunable notch filter for feedback, four application presets and a delay function that compensates distances of up to 10 metres. Protection covers a multiband limiter, overheating, overload and overvoltage.

The signal input is an XLR/jack combo socket, with a 6.3 mm TRS jack input as well and an XLR link output. The PowerCON-compatible mains connection also loops through, which keeps cabling tidy in multi-monitor setups. A 35 mm stand flange allows pole mounting. The housing has a polyurea coating and a heavy-duty front grille.
