The QCon Pro G2 is a USB control surface that gives hands-on control of a DAW session. It has eight touch-sensitive motorized channel faders plus one for the master channel, eight push-and-turn encoders, 78 assignable buttons and a jog/shuttle wheel. Each channel has illuminated Rec-enable, Solo, Mute, Select and Monitor buttons, and six illuminated transport buttons cover play, stop, record, rewind, fast forward and loop.
Feedback comes from 12-segment LED meters on every channel, 11-segment LED rings around the encoders and a large backlit LCD that shows channel names and parameter values. A 12-segment display shows project position in SMPTE or MIDI beat clock. It works through Mackie Control and HUI emulation, ships with overlays for common DAWs, and has a User Defined mode with iMap MIDI-learn mapping software for custom presets.
The unit connects over class-compliant USB 2.0, and firmware updates are made over USB with the iMap software. Two 1/4" TRS jacks accept foot pedals. The case is aluminum and metal with a Kensington lock port. Additional QCon EX G2 extenders add channels in blocks of eight, up to 64 depending on the DAW. Bitwig Studio 8-Track and several bundled plugin and DAW packages are included.
