Platinum4
The Platinum4 is a moving iron phono cartridge with a Mediterranean olive wood body, an aluminum cantilever and a bonded elliptical diamond. It suits vinyl listeners who want a wood-body Grado in the Timbre Series, in high or low output, stereo or mono.

The Platinum4 is a moving iron cartridge from Grado's Timbre Series. It uses the flux-bridger principle, in which the coil stays fixed and the moving mass is very low. The stylus is a bonded elliptical diamond on an aluminum cantilever.
The body is Mediterranean olive wood. Its reshaped housing gives a better view of the cantilever during setup, which helps with alignment and with fitting a range of tonearms. Internally the signal path uses 6N OCC copper, and each cartridge is cryogenically treated and damped to reduce resonance.
It comes as a high-output or low-output stereo version, so it can be matched to a range of phono stages. Mono high-output and mono low-output builds are also made, as special-order items. The cartridge is not sensitive to capacitive load and works with input loads of 10k to 47k ohms. A tracking force of 1.6 to 1.9 grams is specified.
