Description
This signature bass follows Jack Casady's search for an electric instrument that responds like an acoustic bass. It has a layered maple archtop body with cream binding on the top and back, a gloss finish and a set mahogany neck with a laurel fingerboard.
The single JCB-1 Low-Impedance Humbucker is controlled by one volume, one tone and a three-position rotary impedance selector. The selector is marked 50, 250 and 500, and it changes the tonal character of the pickup. Hardware includes a three-point adjustable bridge and tailpiece, a dual-action truss rod, die-cast tuners with clover buttons, and gold speed knobs.
The bass is fitted with a heavy-duty 1/4" output jack and two strap buttons, one on the bottom and one on the back of the heel. It is strung with .045-.105 strings and has a sloped dovewing headstock with a mother-of-pearl logo and Casady's signature in gold.
