The Triangle Big Muff Pi is a reissue of the first Big Muff, named after the triangular arrangement of its Volume, Sustain and Tone knobs. It recreates the circa 1969 analog circuit and was introduced in 2018 to mark the company's 50th anniversary. The circuit sits in a small die-cast chassis designed to fit on a pedalboard.
Controls are kept simple. Volume sets the output level, Sustain sets how much sustain and distortion is applied, and Tone sweeps from high treble to deep bass. A footswitch toggles the effect and an LED lights while it is active. Switching is true bypass, and the look and graphics follow the vintage original.
Connections are a 1/4" input and a 1/4" output, with mono audio. The pedal runs on the supplied 9V battery, or optionally from a 9.6VDC 200mA power adapter, which is sold separately. Current draw is 3mA.
