Description

The East River Drive is a single-channel analog overdrive pedal based on a JRC4558 integrated circuit. It uses symmetrical clipping to add gain and edge while keeping the guitar's tone intact, with a mid-focused character.

Three knobs control the sound: Volume sets the output level, Drive sets the amount of input gain, and Tone shapes the brightness so the signal can cut through a mix. A footswitch toggles the effect or true bypass, and an LED lights when the effect is on. It can be used to add dirt to a clean amp or to push an overdriven amp further.

Connection is simple: one quarter-inch input jack and one quarter-inch output jack (labelled Amp), with mono audio. The pedal is housed in a compact die-cast chassis and runs from a 9V battery, which is included, or from an optional 9.6VDC 200mA adapter that is sold separately. It was released in 2013.
