The R1700BT is an active bookshelf speaker pair that combines the amplifier and the speakers in one set, so no separate receiver is needed. Each cabinet holds a 4-inch mid/bass driver and a 0.75-inch (19 mm) silk-diaphragm tweeter. Total output is 66 W RMS, split between 15 W per tweeter and 18 W per mid/bass driver. A Class-D amplifier with digital signal processing and dynamic range control handles the tuning.
The cabinets are made of MDF to limit resonance and distortion. The bases are angled at 10 degrees so the drivers point toward the listening position. Controls are on the right-hand speaker panel, and a remote control is also used to operate the functions.
For connections, the speakers offer Bluetooth 5.1 for wireless streaming and two pairs of RCA inputs, so more than one wired source can stay plugged in. The listed inputs are AUX IN/PC IN and Bluetooth. The Bluetooth range for stable use is given as 10 metres.
