The MIA-BR16 is a small passive subwoofer-style unit that extends the low end of MIA-40 column loudspeakers. It uses a ported 6-inch woofer with a moisture-resistant treated paper cone in an MDF enclosure with a painted aluminium grille, and covers 61 Hz to 1.3 kHz (-10 dB). One unit can support up to four MIA-40 speakers.
It can be driven from a low-impedance 8 Ω output or from 70 V / 100 V constant-voltage lines, with multiple power taps on each line. Power handling is 80 W RMS, 160 W program and 320 W peak, with 91 dB sensitivity and a maximum SPL of 105 dB continuous and 111 dB peak. The recommended amplifier power is 160 W RMS.
The IP44 rating allows installation indoors and in protected outdoor spots. It can be placed horizontally on rubber feet (for example under furniture), mounted on a wall, or fitted vertically with the supplied brackets. Connection is by Euroblock terminals, and the finish is black (RAL9005).
