The Home 250 is a stereo wireless speaker built around four drivers: two 19 mm tweeters, two 100 mm mid-bass drivers and a 133 mm passive radiator. It plays high-resolution files up to 192 kHz/24-bit (FLAC, WAV, ALAC) as well as DSD 2.8 and 5.6 MHz, and streams from services such as Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music HD, TIDAL, Qobuz, TuneIn and Deezer.
On the top panel are three Quick Select preset buttons, volume and play/pause controls, and a proximity sensor. Built-in microphones enable Alexa voice control, and Siri works through AirPlay 2. Bass and treble can be adjusted. Two units can be used as a stereo pair, and the speaker can act as a surround speaker for the Denon Home Sound Bar 550 or work with a HEOS-enabled subwoofer.
It joins a network over dual-band Wi-Fi or Ethernet, and also supports Bluetooth, AirPlay 2 and Roon Ready. On the back are a USB port for stored music and a 3.5 mm analog input. The speaker runs from mains power only and is set up and controlled with the free HEOS app, which groups it with other HEOS products across the home.
