Description

The UB-Xa MINI is a small polyphonic synthesizer built on a fully analog signal path. Each voice has three voltage-controlled oscillators, and the tone can be shaped with a dual VCF whose analog filter switches between 12 dB and 24 dB slopes. A ring modulator adds metallic, edgy timbres.

Modulation comes from an LFO with three waveforms, which can be routed to pitch, filter cutoff and pulse width. The 27 touch-sensitive keys and the panel layout give direct access to these controls. Play modes include ring unison and octaves, which widen the range of sounds available from one patch.

A 16-step motion sequencer with 10 memory slots handles rhythmic patterns and evolving textures. The small footprint makes the synth easy to carry between studio and stage, and it suits styles from synthwave to cinematic scoring.
