The SP2000 is the third player in the A&ultima line. It uses two AK4499EQ DAC chips and a redesigned analog section in which the unbalanced and balanced outputs have independent audio channels. Output level is 3.0Vrms unbalanced and 6.0Vrms balanced with no load. It plays PCM up to 32-bit/768kHz and native DSD up to DSD512 (22.4MHz), and supports MQA from Tidal Masters, local files, external USB and ripped MQA-CDs.
The player has a 5-inch 720 x 1,280 touchscreen, an octa-core CPU, a multi-function volume wheel and 512GB of built-in storage, expandable with one microSD card of up to 1TB. It is Roon Ready and receives firmware updates over the air. The body is available in stainless steel or copper, plus black (Onyx Black) and gold (Vegas Gold) PVD-coated stainless steel finishes. The back panel is a single plate without screws.
For connectivity it has dual-band Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, 2.4/5GHz) for streaming and a USB 3.0 Type-C port for PC and Mac input and charging. Outputs are 3.5mm unbalanced, 2.5mm balanced (4-pole only) and a 3.5mm optical output. A 3,700mAh battery gives up to 8 hours of playback in the maker's standard test.
