Teenage Engineering EP-2350 FX MIC – Vocal Effects in Your Hand
The EP-2350 FX MIC is a standalone handheld performance microphone for anyone who wants to shape a vocal while singing it. Four effects, four sample slots and a spring-loaded handle put echo, pitch shifting and stabs under your thumb, with no menus and no computer in the chain. II and EP-136 K.O. Sidekick as the EP series' most direct way to perform with your voice.
Key Features
- Four voice effects: Echo, Spring, Pixie and Robot, selected on the orange button mid-phrase.
- Handle modulation: How far you squeeze the handle sets the effect amount, and shaking the mic bends the sound further.
- Four sample slots: Horn, claps and bell load from the factory and fire straight from the grey button.
- Your own samples: Connect over USB-C and drop WAV files onto the fx-mic disk — no app, no driver.
- Editable effect presets: A plain config.json file rewrites how the effects behave and how the handle, motion and automation map to them.
- Plug-in-anywhere output: Stereo line out on a 3.5 mm coiled cable for K.O. II, a mixer or any sound system.
Customer Benefits
Most vocal effects live in a box you have to reach for. Here they live in the hand holding the microphone, so a dub echo, a pitched-up ad-lib or a horn stab happens exactly on the beat you meant it to. Running on two AAA batteries it needs nothing but a line input, and because the samples and presets are just files on a USB disk, you can rebuild the whole instrument between soundcheck and the first song.

Ideal For
Live vocals over an EP-series sampler, toasting and dub sirens, DJ sets that need a mic with character, and anyone recording lo-fi vocal takes straight into a mixer.
Compatibility
Plugs into the input of the EP-133 K.O. II, EP-136 K.O. Sidekick, EP-40 Riddim Supertone and EP-1320 Medieval, or into any mixer or sound system with a 3.5 mm line input; USB-C mounts it on macOS and Windows as a disk for samples and config files.
Pros & Cons
✅ Pros:
- Effect depth on the handle — expression without menus or a second box
- Samples and effect presets are plain files over USB-C, no software required
- Pocket-sized and battery-powered, so it works with any line input on any stage
⚠️ Cons:
- 1 MB of sample memory keeps your own sounds short
- No on-board recording — samples have to be loaded from a computer
- Line-level output only, so it is not meant to drive headphones directly
If you perform with a microphone and have been reaching for a vocal effects box, the EP-2350 puts that box in your hand instead.
