OWC Thunderbolt 5 Dock with Dual HDMI – Two Screens, Zero Adapters
Plenty of laptops ship without a single HDMI port, while most office, edit-suite and client monitors still expect one. The OWC Thunderbolt 5 Dock with Dual HDMI puts two HDMI 2.1 outputs, each on its own controller, behind one Thunderbolt 5 cable, together with 2.5GbE, SD and microSD UHS-II, eight USB ports and up to 140 W of laptop charging.
Key Features
- Dual native HDMI 2.1: Each port runs on a dedicated controller, so two monitors never fight over bandwidth; up to two 8K 60 Hz or two 4K 240 Hz screens on a Thunderbolt 5 host.
- Third display option: The downstream Thunderbolt 5 port drives a third screen at up to 6K 60 Hz or 4K 144 Hz alongside both HDMI monitors.
- Full-speed storage port: Downstream Thunderbolt 5 at up to 80Gb/s with 30 W for bus-powered SSDs and RAID enclosures.
- 140 W host charging: Keeps a MacBook Pro or high-end Windows laptop charged even with both displays, storage and network running.
- Card readers on the front: SD 4.0 UHS-II and microSD UHS-II slots for camera and drone footage, no separate reader needed.
- Stands flat or upright: Lay it next to the keyboard or stand it vertically to save desk space.
Customer Benefits
One cable brings the whole desk to life: two HDMI displays, wired 2.5GbE for NAS work, a full-speed Thunderbolt 5 port for fast storage, card offload, audio and charging. Editors and producers can plug a client monitor and a timeline screen straight in without DisplayPort converters, and the laptop stays topped up through long sessions. OWC Dock Ejector unmounts every connected drive with one click before you leave.

Pros & Cons
✅ Pros:
- Two native HDMI 2.1 ports, each with its own controller
- Full-speed Thunderbolt 5 port for storage or a third screen
- 140 W charging, UHS-II card readers and 2.5GbE in one box
⚠️ Cons:
- Dual 8K, 4K 240 Hz and triple-display modes need a Thunderbolt 5 host
- Most rear USB ports are 5Gb/s, so put fast drives on the front or Thunderbolt port
- Relies on a sizeable 180 W external power brick
If your screens speak HDMI and your laptop doesn't, this dock closes the gap without a drawer full of adapters.
