Marantz MCR 60n DAB – A complete hi-fi system, one box

The MCR 60n DAB is the compact Marantz system for people who never gave up on discs or records but still want their whole library a tap away. A front-loading CD mechanism, an MM phono stage, HEOS streaming, DAB+ radio and HDMI eARC for the TV all sit inside a chassis roughly the footprint of a hardback book, driven by four amplifier channels.

Key Features

• 65 W per channel into 4 ohms: Real power for bookshelf and compact floorstanding speakers.
• Four amplifier channels: Run Speaker A/B with independent volumes, bi-amp one pair, or bridge in parallel BTL for more grip.
• Front-loading CD player: Your disc collection stays in rotation, no separate transport needed.
• MM phono stage built in: Connect a turntable straight to the back, no external preamp.
• HDMI eARC with CEC: The TV remote controls the volume, and Dolby Digital soundtracks decode in stereo.
• HEOS streaming: Spotify, TIDAL, Qobuz Connect, AirPlay 2 and Roon, plus multiroom across other HEOS devices.
• DAB+, FM and internet radio: Broadcast stays a first-class source, not an afterthought.
• Two-way Bluetooth: Stream in from a phone, or send out to headphones and a portable speaker.
• Subwoofer output with crossover: Add a sub and set the handover point without a separate processor.
• Dirac Live ready: Optional room correction upgrade for stereo playback when the room fights back.

Customer Benefits

Most compact systems make you choose which source to give up. This one does not. The MCR 60n DAB handles a CD you have owned for twenty years, a record you bought last week, a hi-res stream and the film you are half watching, and it switches between them from one remote or the HEOS app. Four Smart Select presets recall a source, listening mode and volume in a single press, so the setup you use every evening is one button away. Because it is genuinely small, it works on a sideboard, in a study or in a bedroom system where a full-width amplifier and a separate streamer were never realistic.

Use Cases / Ideal For

Sideboard and shelf systems where separates will not fit. Second rooms that still deserve real amplification. Listeners with a CD and vinyl collection who also stream.

Compatibility

Works with passive speakers from 4 to 16 Ω, MM cartridges, any HDMI eARC or ARC television, and the HEOS app on iOS and Android. Roon Ready and AirPlay 2 certified.

Pros & Cons

✅ Pros:

• CD, vinyl, streaming and TV audio in one small box
• Four amplifier channels give bi-amp and two-zone options rare at this size
• DAB+ tuner and MM phono built in, not sold as add-ons
• Two finishes, including Marantz Champagne Gold

⚠️ Cons:

• Dirac Live room correction is a paid upgrade, not included
• 65 W into 4 Ω suits compact speakers, not large or hard-to-drive floorstanders
• One line-level analogue input only, so a second analogue source needs a switcher

If your listening room is a shelf rather than a rack, the MCR 60n DAB is the shortest route to a system that plays everything.
