The MS-50G is a single-pedal guitar processor that ships with 100 built-in effects covering dynamics and filters, overdrive and distortion, amp and cabinet models, modulation, delay and reverb. Up to six effects can run at once, in any order, and each can be switched in or out of the chain. Free firmware V3.0 adds access to 72 further effects.
Patches are stored in 50 memories, 30 of which hold factory settings, and edits are saved automatically. A patch list of up to 26 entries can be stepped through with the footswitch. A chromatic tuner covers standard, open and drop tunings and can either bypass the effects or mute the outputs. Tap tempo sets delay times and modulation rates, and a backlit LCD with contrast control aids visibility on dark stages.
The pedal has a mono 1/4" input for passive or active instruments and two mono 1/4" outputs for stereo recording. It runs on two AA batteries, an optional Zoom AD-16 adapter or USB, which also handles firmware updates. The MS-50G Effect Manager app for Mac and Windows lets users view, download and delete effects.
