The GCE-3 is a pocket-sized USB audio interface for guitar. A built-in DSP processor handles the effects, taking the load off the computer and keeping latency very low while recording. It is controlled entirely from the computer through the Guitar Lab software; the panel controls are for appearance only.
Guitar Lab for Mac and Windows gives access to the amp models, artist effects and patches used in Zoom's G-series pedals. It can emulate the G5n, G3n, G3Xn, B3n, G1 FOUR, G1X FOUR, B1 FOUR and B1X FOUR. Effects include distortion, overdrive, EQ, compression, delay, reverb, flanger, phaser and chorus. A clipboard stores up to four effects with custom settings for pasting into other patches, and a news section offers downloadable patches.
The guitar connects to a standard mono input jack and the unit connects to the computer over USB-C. A stereo AUX input takes a phone or music player so backing tracks reach the headphones without being recorded. The stereo headphone output has its own volume control.
