The SMOOTH-Q4 is a handheld gimbal for smartphones that uses the ninth generation of the maker's stabilization algorithm. It has a silicone-coated ergonomic body with smooth edges and folds down small enough to fit in a pocket. A built-in rod extends by 215mm, which allows shots from a wider range of angles.
A double-sided magnetic fill light attaches to the phone holder. It has a 5500K colour temperature and four brightness levels, and measures 141 lux at 0.6m in lab conditions. The fill light is a separate accessory and is needed for the lighting functions. A multi-function control wheel can be pressed to change fill light brightness and scrolled to change focal length. An indicator panel shows the current shooting mode, and the gimbal switches between landscape and portrait orientation.
Shooting modes are handled through the companion app. They include SmartShooting scene recognition, Gesture Control, MagicClone Pano, Dolly Zoom, SmartFollow 3.0, a SMART mode, the ZY Cami editor and a Live Stream Master function.
