Deskrizzjoni

STVC combines a string machine with a vocoder and a solo synth. The string section uses an oscillator bank with octave dividers, a mixer, an equalizer and an ensemble effect. One registration knob sweeps through settings such as violin, viola, cello, brass, organ and choir. The 16-voice solo section is shaped mainly by a single Tone knob, and a Balance control fades between strings and solo.

The vocoder replaces the string equalizer with a 256-band filter bank driven by the microphone input. Formants can be shifted, the string oscillators can be given jitter for a hoarse or whispered voice, and a Freeze function holds a short speech fragment that is replayed when keys are pressed. A Tweak function modulates or offsets detailed parameters such as the solo cutoff or the chorus LFO rate. Animate, ensemble/chorus, phaser and reverb can run at the same time.

The keyboard has velocity and aftertouch, and patches are stored in three banks. Connections include MIDI in/out, USB for MIDI and power, sustain and expression pedal inputs, stereo line outputs, a headphone output and a front-panel XLR microphone jack. The supplied gooseneck microphone plugs into that jack.
