Iridium Desktop MK2
Desktop synthesizer from Waldorf, a second generation of the 2020 Iridium Desktop. It has three oscillators with six synthesis methods, up to four multi-timbral layers and per-note parameter locks, and suits sound designers and electronic musicians.

Iridium Desktop MK2 is a desktop synthesizer built on the multi-engine design shared by the Quantum and Iridium line. It replaces the original Iridium Desktop with a new housing and a CPU board that carries more RAM and flash storage, which allows more sample storage and additional synthesis options.
The main additions are Per-Note-Parameter-Locks, developed with Aphex Twin, and a sixth synthesis method called Seeds for each of the three oscillators. With the locks, each of the 128 notes can hold up to 16 parameter variations, including oscillator synthesis modes and effect settings, and they are stored with the patch. Seeds builds timbral journeys from sub-oscillators that can be combined with ring and frequency modulation and noise. A Flavour knob applies micro-variations of timing, timbre and pitch, a concept taken from the Waldorf Protein synthesizer. The multi-timbral layer count rises from 2 to 4, with layered, split, round-robin and random-robin modes.
For connections it offers stereo audio in and out on TS jacks, a headphone output, DIN MIDI, USB device and host ports, a microSD slot, four CV inputs usable in the mod matrix, and analog clock, gate and start connections.
