Universal Audio Volt 2 Gen 2

Universal Audio Volt 2 Gen 2 – Two Preamps, Smart Display, Auto-Gain

Volt 2 Gen 2 gives two Tone Shaping Preamps, two front Hi-Z inputs and a full-color Smart Display to a desktop that needs to record a vocal and an instrument, or a stereo pair. It stays bus-powered and class-compliant on computer, iPad and iPhone.

Key Features

• Tone Shaping Preamp: Three switchable characters per channel: Warmth (tube, 610-inspired), Focus (American solid state) and Shine (British Class-A)
• Smart Display: Full-color screen shows inputs, levels and settings at a glance
• Auto-Gain and Clip Protection: Sets input levels in seconds and catches unexpected peaks before they ruin a take
• 32-bit / 192 kHz Conversion: Up to 119 dB dynamic range on the mic inputs, so quiet details and loud peaks both land intact
• Independent 48V: Phantom power per channel, so a dynamic and a condenser can share the session
• Built-In Loopback: Blend mics with computer audio for podcasts, livestreams and video calls

Customer Benefits

The display and Auto-Gain remove the usual guesswork of a two-channel box: you see what each input is doing and the interface sets sensible levels for you. That leaves more of the session for playing. With Console and LUNA integration, cue mixes and settings recall with the project.

Pros & Cons

✅ Pros:

• Smart Display and Auto-Gain are rare at this level
• Tone Shaping on both channels
• Bus-powered and mobile-ready

⚠️ Cons:

• No MIDI I/O (the Gen 1 Volt 2 had it; Volt 4 Gen 2 brings it back)
• Single headphone output

Volt 2 Gen 2 is a two-channel interface that helps you get the level and the tone right before you press record.
