The SOLO/610 is a single-channel tube preamp modelled on the mic amplifier of the Putnam 610 console. It takes a microphone or an instrument and adds the tube colour associated with that circuit. Gain, Level and Impedance controls let the user shape the tone, and the steel chassis is built for use in a control room, recording room, on a desktop or on stage.
The mic input offers two impedance settings (450 ohms or 1.6 kilohms), and the DI input offers 2.2 megohms or 50 kilohms. The DI section provides a Thru output as well as a Mic/Line level output. A 12AX7 and a 12AT7 tube make up the gain stage, with up to 61 dB of maximum gain.
The unit is hand-built in the USA and covered by a one-year limited warranty. Its dimensions are 14 x 5.75 x 5 inches and it weighs 9 lbs.
