Apollo x16D

The Apollo x16D is an 18 x 20 audio interface that joins Dante networking with realtime UAD plug-in processing on six onboard SHARC DSP chips. It carries more than 200 UAD plug-ins in VST, AU and AAX 64 formats, and it works with UAD Console independently of a DAW. It has no built-in microphone preamps, so mic and instrument sources come from an Apollo e1x or other Dante or AES-connected preamps and stageboxes.

On the monitoring side it provides high-grade D/A conversion with a 133 dB dynamic range and -129 dB THD, a monitor controller with alternate speaker switching and talkback, bass management, and Apollo Monitor Correction by Sonarworks for stereo and immersive setups. It supports immersive formats up to 9.1.6 and 16-channel mixes for Dolby Atmos, Auro-3D and Sony 360 Reality Audio. Plug-In Scenes can be recalled over MIDI from a live console during a show.

The unit connects to a computer over Thunderbolt and to consoles or stageboxes over Ethernet using Dante, with an AES67 mode at 48 kHz. Up to four units can be linked into a 64-channel Dante system at 96 kHz with network redundancy. A stereo AES input and output connects digital outboard gear, and Apollo e1x and e2m units extend the I/O over Dante.
