Apollo Twin X USB is a desktop audio interface that connects to a Windows PC over USB-C (USB 3.0). It uses redesigned 24-bit/192 kHz A/D and D/A converters and a UAD-2 DUO Core processor, which runs UAD plug-ins on the unit itself so that tracking through emulated compressors, EQs, preamps and guitar amps happens with near-zero latency regardless of the audio buffer size.
Two Unison mic/line preamps and a front-panel Hi-Z instrument input cover vocals, synths and guitars. Unison lets the input stage take on the impedance and gain behaviour of modelled preamps when a Unison-enabled plug-in is loaded. Other features include a built-in talkback mic and monitor controls for Mono, Mute, DIM and ALT.
Additional digital inputs (up to 8 channels) can be added via optical ADAT or S/PDIF. The Heritage Edition plug-in bundle and the Realtime Analog Classics bundle are included, and UAD plug-ins run as VST and AAX in the major Windows DAWs. A UAD native plug-in set can run alongside the DSP plug-ins, and up to two USB UAD-2 Satellite units can be added for extra mixing capacity.
