The TD 403 DD is a direct-drive turntable supplied ready to play. It has a 1.4 kg, 22 mm thick die-cast aluminium platter and the TP 150 tonearm. An Ortofon 2M Blue cartridge, which has a nude elliptical diamond stylus, is fitted and adjusted at the factory, so no cartridge setup is needed before the first record.
The TP 150 tonearm has an effective mass of 14 grams, which suits a wide range of cartridges. Both vertical tracking angle (VTA) and azimuth can be adjusted. The tonearm uses a standard SME connector, so headshells and cartridges can be swapped quickly, and the headshell is a detachable SME type.
Anti-skating is set with a movable weight in the tonearm base. A nylon thread runs over a low-friction ruby bearing to transmit the force. The turntable measures 42 cm wide, 36 cm long and 13.6 cm high, and weighs 7.2 kg. A datasheet and a user manual are available for download.
