Monitor Pilot
Desktop monitor controller that switches between up to three pairs of stereo speakers and a headphone output. It uses an analog VCA-based level control and a remote knob unit, for home and project studios running an audio interface.

MONITOR PILOT is an all-analog monitor control station made up of a compact desktop remote and a separate I/O box. It selects between up to three stereo speaker sets and controls the playback level after the audio interface, so the interface's digital output can stay at full resolution. The remote shows which speakers are active.
The level control is a VCA-based circuit that keeps left and right channels matched, including at low listening levels. Each speaker output has its own trim pot, so playback levels can be matched across speaker sets and switching does not cause level jumps. The headphone output accepts 8 to 600 Ohm headphones and has 18 dB of trim. The remote has a solid aluminum knob and a rubber base.
The interface's main outputs connect to the I/O box through a pair of balanced XLR inputs, and the speakers connect through balanced XLR outputs. A 1/8" mini jack input on the front panel takes any media device, balanced or unbalanced. The headphone output is a 1/4" TRS jack on the front panel. The remote links to the I/O box with a single cable. The box can sit on the desk or be mounted under it, and the unit does not depend on a computer.
