This is the upgraded version of the GS Mini-e Rosewood. It pairs a solid Sitka spruce top with layered 2-piece rosewood back and sides on a compact 23-1/2" scale body. The neck is tropical mahogany with a West African Crelicam ebony fretboard and a narrow 1-11/16" nut width, which suits smaller hands. Both the top and the back and sides have a gloss finish, the neck and peghead are matte, and the hardware includes Taylor nickel tuners and a black pickguard.

Plugged-in sound comes from Expression System 2, a behind-the-saddle pickup design, for use with an amplifier or PA. Compared with the standard GS Mini-e Rosewood, the differences are the ES2 electronics, the gloss finish and the included case. The guitar is built with X-bracing with relief rout, a Nubone nut and saddle, and ships with D'Addario XS coated phosphor bronze medium strings (.013 - .056).

A brown AeroCase is included, a lightweight hard case. The guitar is made in Taylor's factory in Tecate, Mexico. A left-handed version can be special-ordered through authorised dealers.
