The US-428 connects to a PC or Mac over USB and combines a 24-bit audio interface with a physical control surface. It handles four inputs (analog or S/PDIF) and two outputs at the same time, and records at up to 48 kHz and 24-bit resolution.
On the control side, the unit supports unlimited banks of eight faders and has dedicated controllers for EQ, aux and pan. Two independent MIDI I/O ports are provided for connecting external MIDI gear. Documentation lists control-surface support for applications including Cubase, Nuendo, Pro Tools, Digital Performer, Logic, Reason and Native Instruments B4.
Software in the package includes Cubase LE (48 tracks, 96 kHz) and GigaStudio 3 LE (64-voice sampling). Drivers were published for Windows 98 SE through Vista and XP, including 64-bit Windows, and for Mac OS 8.6-9 and OS X, with the latest driver release being version 3.40.
