The TM-180 is a side-address style condenser microphone built around a 34 mm aluminum diaphragm with a cardioid pickup pattern, which favors sound arriving from the front and reduces pickup from the sides and rear. It is positioned for music creation with audio interfaces and portable studio recorders.
The microphone covers 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz and has a sensitivity of -35 dB ±2 dB at 1 kHz. It handles sound pressure levels up to 130 dB and has a signal-to-noise ratio of 79 dB, so it can be used on both quiet and louder sources. Output impedance is 200 Ω and the recommended load impedance is above 1 kΩ.
It connects through a 3-pin male XLR and needs 48 V phantom power from a preamp, interface or mixer. A suspension shockmount with a 5/8 inch thread is supplied, along with a 5/8 to 3/8 inch conversion adapter, a hard case and a soft case. The body measures 50 × 190 × 50 mm and weighs 420 g.
