SX-1

The SX-1 brings mixing, recording and sequencing into one unit. The digital mixer handles 40 channels, with stereo and surround capability, built-in dynamic automation, a 3-band parametric EQ and dynamics on each channel. Touch-sensitive faders and a virtual channel strip with LED ring encoders handle control. Recording is to a 16-track internal hard disk, which also provides dedicated stereo and surround mixdown tracks. Audio is stored as standard Broadcast WAV files on a FAT-32 drive.

A 128-track MIDI sequencer with a built-in 2x4 MIDI interface provides piano roll and event editing, quantize and transpose functions and non-destructive editing. Effects come from TASCAM, TC Works and Antares, and an XVGA output allows a monitor to show waveform editing and plug-in control. A built-in CD-RW drive is used for burning audio CDs or making backups.

Connections include 16 mic/line inputs with inserts and phantom power, ADAT optical and coaxial S/PDIF digital I/O, XLR and RCA stereo outputs, and three option card slots that take DM-24 I/O cards. Sync options cover SMPTE, MTC, word sync and video sync. The range also includes the SX-1LE, SX-1LE Plus and SX-1SE variants.
