The MP-GT1 plays MP3 files and is built for practising along with recordings. Variable Speed Audition slows a track down without altering its pitch, and a chosen section can be looped seamlessly. Pitch can be shifted in 1% steps, so songs can be matched to the tuning of a guitar without re-tuning. A Guitar Cancel effect removes the guitar part from a recording so the player can take its place.
A high-impedance 1/4" guitar input feeds a set of multi-effects that includes overdrive, distortion, delay, flange and reverb. A tuner, oscillator and metronome are built in. Memory holds roughly 240 songs, based on 4-minute MP3 files encoded at 128kbps. Tracks are browsed with a data wheel, dedicated buttons and a 128x64 graphic LCD.
MP3 files are loaded over a high-speed USB connection, which also charges the internal lithium ion battery, rated for a 9-hour reserve. An optional power supply is available. Audio is monitored through a 1/8" headphone output. Auto Power Off and a Hold function are included. The unit is based on the CD-GT1mkII and is smaller than a stomp box.
