Description

The MF-P01 is an entry-level four-track recorder that works with ordinary cassette tapes. A musician loads a tape, plugs in an instrument, chooses a track and records. Tracks are recorded one at a time, which gives the analog sound associated with tape.

Four tracks allow a small arrangement to be built up, for example drum machine, guitar, vocals and keyboard. A headphone output is included for monitoring. The unit is compact, measuring 295 x 70 x 205 mm and weighing 1.1 kg.

Tascam describes it as the least expensive Portastudio it has produced. An owner's manual and a beginner's guide to recording were published for it, dated July 2007. The model is no longer in production.
