Combination 2U rack unit pairing a CD player with a MiniDisc recorder/player, aimed at installations and broadcast jobs that still need MD compatibility. The CD side also plays MP3 and WAV discs, and discs can be dubbed from CD to MiniDisc.

This unit combines a CD transport and a MiniDisc transport in two rack spaces. The CD side plays audio CD, CD-R, CD-RW and discs holding MP3 or WAV files, with CD-TEXT and ID3 tag display. It offers pitch control from -50 to +16%, key control of ±6 semitones without changing speed, auto cue, auto ready, fades and an end-of-message indicator. The MiniDisc side records and plays SP, MONO, LP2 and LP4 modes and includes erase, divide, combine, move, title and grouping edits, overwrite, sync recording and pre-recording.
The two transports can run independently, or play continuously from one to the other. CD to MD dubbing runs at 4x in SP mode and 2x in MONO, LP2 and LP4 modes, and at 1x from MP3/WAV discs or when pitch or key control is active. A common output can carry either transport, with selectable priority, and the headphone output can select MD, CD or the common signal.
Each transport has its own RCA analog outputs plus coaxial and optical S/PDIF outputs. The MiniDisc section also has RCA analog, coaxial and optical digital inputs. Control is by wireless remote, RS-232C or a PS/2 keyboard, which also handles editing and title entry. An optional LA-MC1 card adds balanced I/O. The maker lists this model as discontinued.
