The MD-02B is a rack-mounted MiniDisc recorder in a 2U chassis. It records at 44.1kHz/16-bit resolution using ATRAC3 encoding, with Stereo, Mono, LP2 and LP4 recording modes. A power-on play function starts playback when the unit is switched on.
For audio connections it offers balanced XLR or unbalanced RCA inputs and outputs, along with coaxial and optical S/PDIF digital input and output. A 1/4" stereo headphone output is provided for monitoring. A PS/2 keyboard input allows tracks to be labelled with a standard computer keyboard.
The recorder comes with the RC-MD02 35-key wireless remote control. Its universal power input accepts 120-230V at 50 or 60Hz, so it can be used in different regions. The model is listed as discontinued, and an owner's manual dated 2009-10-09 is available for it.
