The LA-80MKII is a rack-mount line amplifier with eight independent channels, each taking an unbalanced RCA input and providing a balanced XLR output. It is a revised version of an earlier line amplifier design, and sits alongside the LA-81MKII, which does the reverse job of converting balanced signals to unbalanced.
Every channel has a trim control with a range of ±12 dB for matching levels between connected devices, plus a signal-present LED that helps when designing a system or tracing faults. Input level can be set per channel to +4 dBu or -20 dBu, with a -10 dBV output level. Each channel also has its own ground lift switch, and a separate All Lift switch removes the ground connections for the whole unit.
The unit is housed in a black 19-inch rack case with a standard chassis depth, which is meant to make wiring easier. It has an earth terminal on the chassis. This model has been discontinued by the maker.
