Description

The iM2X is a small stereo microphone designed to attach to an iOS device and turn it into a digital recorder. Its two uni-directional capsules are set in an X-Y arrangement, which is the main difference from the earlier iM2, whose capsules are set in an A-B arrangement. The microphone handles sound pressure levels up to 125 dB SPL.

Audio performance is listed as a frequency response of 10 Hz to 20 kHz, a signal-to-noise ratio of 95 dB or greater and total harmonic distortion below 0.01%. The unit weighs 30 g and measures 57.0 x 58.6 x 19.0 mm, so it is easy to carry with a phone.

It takes its power from the connected iOS device and draws 90 mW, so no battery or external supply is needed. Compatibility is listed for iOS 5, 6, 7 and 8. The model is no longer in production.
