HS-8
The HS-8 is an 8-channel solid-state audio recorder that records to CompactFlash cards, aimed at surround-sound recording, master recording and backup for computer-based sessions. It has been discontinued.

The HS-8 records up to eight channels of broadcast WAV audio onto CompactFlash media. It handles 96 kHz/24-bit on all eight channels, 192 kHz/24-bit on four channels, and eight channels plus a stereo mix track at 44.1 or 48 kHz. Files use the BWF format with iXML metadata. It is a record and playback machine only, with no overdubbing.
Other functions include an internal stereo mixer with level and pan, multi-channel flash start, and a 5-second pre-record buffer. Operation is through a colour TFT touch panel, and a PS/2 keyboard can also be connected.
Connections cover eight balanced analog inputs and outputs and eight AES/EBU channels on 25-pin D-sub connectors, plus XLR stereo analog and AES/EBU I/O for channels 1 and 2. There is also 8-channel ADAT optical I/O, BNC video/word clock and SMPTE timecode connectors, RS-422/RS-232C and parallel control ports, a gigabit-capable LAN port, a remote input and a headphone output.
