The GA-30CD combines a single-channel solid-state guitar amp with a CD player designed for practising. The guitar section has Gain, Bass, Middle, Treble and Boost controls and an independent 15 W power stage driving a 6.5" speaker. A first effects section offers chorus, flanger, phaser, tremolo, auto-wah, pitch shift, delay and panning delay, while a second section is dedicated to reverb.
The CD section has a separate stereo 7.5 W amplifier and two 3" speakers, so disc playback does not share the guitar tone path. Playback speed can be changed without altering pitch, which helps when learning passages slowly. Sections of a song can be looped seamlessly, and the CD pitch can be shifted to match the tuning of an instrument. A guitar canceller reduces the recorded guitar to leave room for playing along, and a built-in tuner with oscillator is included.
For connections, a 1/8" stereo line input accepts an MP3 player, drum machine or microphone preamp, a 1/4" stereo headphone output is provided, and a 1/4" footswitch input takes an optional boost pedal.
