The DV-RA1000 is a two-channel disc recorder for studio mixdown work. It records PCM audio from CD-quality up to 192 kHz/24-bit, and also supports DSD recording. Files are written as standard CD-DA, Broadcast Wave or DSDIFF to DVD+RW and CD-R/RW media, so it can also serve as a conventional audio CD recorder for studios or meeting rooms.
On the processing side it has multiband compression and a 3-band EQ for mixdown, available in the 44.1 kHz to 96 kHz modes. Playback and recording tools include ±6% pitch control, fade in/out, power-on play, auto track increment, auto cue, auto ready, single and continuous play, and program A/B play. Function keys are user-definable and the display is a large backlit LCD.
Connections include balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA analog I/O, balanced AES/EBU I/O, SDIF-3 DSD I/O, word sync in/out/thru, a headphone output, USB 2.0 (so a PC can use it as a DVD data drive), RS-232C serial control and a PS/2 keyboard port for title editing. A wired remote, the RC-RA1000, is supplied. The model has been discontinued and replaced by the DA-3000SD.
