DR-2d

The DR-2d is a handheld digital recorder built around a stereo condenser microphone with an improved signal-to-noise ratio. It captures uncompressed WAV audio at up to 96kHz/24-bit, or MP3, and stores files on SD or SDHC cards. A dual recording function keeps a second copy at a lower level as a safeguard against overload, and an auto-record function starts capture when the input passes a set reference level.

Input handling includes a limiter, a low cut filter and automatic gain control. Internal effects such as reverb are available, along with a metronome. For playback and practice there is a loop mode and variable speed audition, which changes speed without changing pitch. A 128x64 backlit LCD shows settings, and a built-in speaker allows checking recordings without headphones.

For connections, the unit has a 1/8" stereo microphone input, a 1/8" stereo line input and a 1/8" stereo headphone output. Files are transferred over USB 2.0. Power comes from two AA batteries or an optional PS-P520 adapter. A tripod screw hole is provided, and a wireless remote control is supplied.
