The DR-100MKII records stereo WAV at 44.1, 48 or 96 kHz (96 kHz in HS mode only) with 16 or 24-bit depth, and MP3 from 32 to 320 kbps. It has two unidirectional condenser microphones and two omnidirectional microphones built in, plus a combo XLR/TRS input with phantom power and a 3.5 mm stereo line input. Input levels are set with separate left and right rotary knobs.
Recording tools include pre-recording of up to 2 seconds, auto recording triggered by input level, a record delay, overdubbing, up to 99 marks per track, and auto or manual track incrementing. Three low cut filters (40, 80 and 120 Hz) and a level control for auto gain and limiter are provided. Playback offers playlists, A-B repeat, file division for WAV and tempo change from -50% to +16% outside HS mode.
The unit connects to a computer over USB 2.0 mass storage. It also has a digital S/PDIF input, a line output, a headphone output, a remote jack and a 0.4 W mono speaker. Power comes from a Li-ion battery, two AA cells, an optional AC adapter or an optional external battery pack. The body is aluminium.
