Dual-well DAT recorder in a 3U rack format, meant for duplicating DAT tapes, long play/record jobs and live productions with several sources. Each well can play or record independently.

The DA-302 puts two DAT transports in one 3U rack unit, much like a dual cassette deck. It can dub one tape to the other at 2x speed, while time code and 24-bit DATs are copied at 1x. Both wells can record, so two masters can be made at once, and each well can work on its own: one can play back cues while the other records a show, or both can play to feed two zones.
Several units can be linked for long play or long record work, with the wells engaging one after another for automated playback or recording. Other functions include single play (play one track and pause), a record mute function, selectable SCMS status, track names in DAT subcodes, and a headphone output with level control.
Analog connections are unbalanced RCA, with a common input and separate outputs per well. Digital I/O is on coaxial ports, independent for each well, which can carry S/PDIF or be switched to AES/EBU. An optional LA-D302 kit adds balanced XLR analog ports. The RC-D302 wired remote is included. The model has been discontinued.
