The CD-RW901MKII records and plays audio CDs on CD-R and CD-RW media, including high-speed CD-RW. Recording tools include sync recording that starts and stops at a preset level, fade-in and fade-out, automatic, manual and time-based track division, and a sampling rate converter that brings 32 to 48kHz sources to 44.1kHz. A trim function adjusts the sync and track-division points, and the copy ID can be set to free, one generation, prohibited or SCMS.
Playback covers CD-DA, data CDs and MP3 files. It offers continuous, single, program and random modes, A-B repeat, auto-cue, auto-ready, pitch control of ±16%, key control, a call function, an end-of-message indicator and index search. Two units can be used together for overlap recording to make a continuous recording.
Connections include balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA analog inputs and outputs, coaxial, optical and AES/EBU digital I/O, a 6.3mm headphone output, a PS/2 keyboard port for titles and control, RS-232C and parallel control connectors, and a wired remote. The unit is 2U rack-mountable with a tray-loading drive. It has been discontinued by the maker.
