The CD-RW700 is a 2U rack-mount audio CD recorder built around a TEAC computer CD-RW drive mechanism. It records to both professional and consumer CD-R and CD-RW discs, and uses 24-bit A/D and D/A converters for the analog side.
Recording tools include a built-in RAM buffer so that ID marks land accurately, an Auto ID function with adjustable sensitivity, and a Sync Record function. Digital gain adjustment and user-selectable digital fades are available, and an input monitor function lets the signal be checked before and during recording. The unit can override SCMS codes. Playback features include a 25-track program play memory.
Analog input and output are on unbalanced RCA connectors. Digital input and output are provided over S/PDIF on both coaxial and optical connections. A headphone output with level control is fitted, and the RC-RW700 wireless remote is supplied. The manufacturer lists the model as discontinued.
