The CD-A500 puts a CD player and a reversible cassette deck in one 3U rackmount unit. It is built for transferring whole CDs or individual tracks to cassette within a single system, without a separate set of equipment for each format.
The cassette deck offers a pitch adjustment of ±12%. A CD sync feature supports the copying workflow, and a continuous play function runs playback from deck to deck in either direction, which is useful in long-play installation setups. A wireless remote is included.
On the back, one pair of unbalanced RCA outputs is shared by the cassette deck and the CD player, and a second pair of unbalanced RCA outputs carries the CD player alone. The unit is 19 inches wide and weighs 14.1 lbs (6.4 kg). The model has been discontinued by the maker.
